GEOS For the Commodore 64
The file system stores a number of extra properties about each file
including the application that created it, the name of the author, and
general comments. The file system also allows greater file name length
than what was typical of the time.
You can view folders as lists sorted by size, type, date, or name.
Disks have their own set of utilities for manipulation.
GEOS includes several useful applications that run inside the GEOS
environment. GeoPaint is a drawing application that makes use of the Commodore
64's color graphics abilities.
GeoWrite is a What-You-See-Is-What-You-Get word processor. It includes
a number of fonts and has a number of text formatting options. It also
has some features for including graphics in documents.
It is surprisingly powerful when you consider this runs on a system
with only 64 kilobytes of RAM!
And even more impressive, GeoWrite has a "Print Preview" feature -
something that is still sometimes lacking in MS-Windows applications.
