Mandrake Linux 9.0 with KDE 3.0.3

The Mandrake Control Center is where you go to configure your hardware
and the OS.
A second control center, the Kde Control Center contains configuration
options specific to the KDE desktop.
The KDE look and feel is very customizable. Mandrake also includes
a number of screen savers.
KDE is themable. As usual, changes in appearance only fully affect
applications designed specifically for that desktop environment.
I found this rather interesting. In KDE applications the "save as"
dialogs are very Windows 98-ish. Much friendlier than those on GNOME based
applications.
Here are a few KDE applications: KSpread, a spreadsheet application,
KWord a word processing application, and KChart, a graphing application.
Mandrake Linux includes a number of other applications including OpenOffice,
and Mozilla.
Logging out of Mandrake Linux. Oddly it does not give me the option
to shut down the computer. This seems to be because I used the default
option during setup to automatically log me in. I later changed the option
to not log me in automatically (a login window appears at startup) and
then a different window appears here with the options to log off, shut
down, or restart.
